UFC TAMPA | BEST BETS
Now then my amazing degenerate gambling friends! I am absolutely dialled in for this card. We are going for a 3-0 sweep to end the year. Sadly it’s our last card for a while as we have the break for the holidays. Don’t worry, we can just gamble on football! But I’ll miss the MMA cards. In 2025 I’ll be taking it to a whole new level with my sports writing. So look the F out!
Now let’s get into it folks.
BET 1 – Colby Covington to win @ +212.
As soon as Colby was announced to take on Buckley, I thought if he’s the betting underdog, I have to take the bet. The levels Colby has operated at compared to Buckley are like Chalk and Cheese. Colby has faced champions time after time. Arguably beating Usman in their 2nd fight. Yes he didn’t look great v Edwards last time. But write this guy off at your peril. The only advantage Buckley has in this fight is power. I just don’t see him landing flush on Colby. Because Buckley whilst having power, doesn’t have world class striking. Masvidal does. An he couldn’t land.
id take his bet at +150, so getting it at this price is fantastic. Lock it in. I have.
Next up, we head to a fight that could well be the fight of the night. Banger on deck.
BET 2 – Adrian Yanez to win @ +170.
If I keep getting offered these odds on 50/50 fights then I’m going to take them. Daniel Marcos is no slouch, he is undefeated in his career as both an amateur and pro. 22-0 win streak. So why pick Yanez? It’s simple, this is the hardest fight Marcos has faced by far. Yanez was once considered a huge prospect. But he has a few poor fights and the hype died. Now he’s got his confidence back, I expect to see him at his most dangerous best again. Yanez has elite level boxing and knockout power in both hands and this match up is perfect for him. Marcos doesn’t wrestle. He average 0.25 TDs per 15 minutes. So 1 in every 4 fights. If he isn’t absolutely on point against Yanez, he’s losing. Possibly even getting put to sleep. His betting line is -210. Zero value. This is a toss up, so take the +170 on Yanez and enjoy the bloodshed. There will be blood. Lots of it.
For the final bet of the night we head to the featherweight division.
BET 3 – Sean Woodson to win @ -150.
What the F is this line? Like seriously. Sean Woodson was a boxer in a previous life. Ok, he was a former amateur boxer with a 46-3 record. Padilla is a come forward aggressive fighter who has finishing ability by both submission and KO. He’s pretty quick too. But not quite as quick and slick as Woodson. If Woodson decides to get into a fire fight he will lose, and he knows it. So I expect him to sit on the outside and pick Padilla off at range, using his outstanding movement and sharp hands. I feel a lot of people will play Padilla as the dog of the card. His resume is solid. But this is just a bad match up for him. Woodson will frustrate the hell out of him, leading to Padilla over throwing his shots, and getting picked off. I feel this is a great getting price, for a guy I’d play to -170/180 here. Woodson is the play. Don’t over think it.
