We finally got the news UK MMA fans in particular wanted to hear today. As it was confirmed that Leon Edwards will fight Jack Della Maddalena at the O2 in London, on Saturday March 22nd 2025.

This absolute fire fight of a main event, gives us the equivalent of “The Ashes” in the MMA world. A heated contest in cricket, between England and Australia. Now we get the UFC version, over 5 rounds, between 2 of the world’s best.

It looks likely that the winner of this fight will be next in line to face the champion at 170 pounds later in the year. Once the current champ Belal Muhammad, defends against No 1 contender Shavkat Rakhmonov first.

Leon Edwards enters the octagon in London on the back of a defeat to Belal last time out. JDM comes in on a hot streak, going 7-0 in the UFC since his debut back in January 2022. JDM has an overall record of 17-2 inside the cage, whilst Edwards is 22-4.
