UFC 309 | BEST BETS

Published by Phillip Dean on November 14, 2024

Now then crew! It’s UFC 309 this weekend and if you ain’t pumped for it, I’m afraid you’re a casual. Yes I wish Tom Aspinall was getting his shot at Jone, and yes I wish this fight happened earlier in Miocic’s career. But regardless this is still a massive fight in the MMA world. So stop moaning, wipe your tears away and lock the F in!

BET 1

We head to the middleweight division. 2 guys who are definitely past their best, but have been thrown together in what should make a solid scrap. The worry from a betting point of view here, is that the judges may well be involved. But it’s New York so I’ll take that risk. Do not be surprised if we see a ton of wrestling in this fight too. Both a very good in that department, plus I ain’t convinced both guys are overly confident in their own chins. Safety first approach may well play out. I’m taking Chris Weidman to get it done. He has only lost once on the judges scorecards in his career, and I fancy him to squeak out the win here.

BET 2

Next up I am taking another dog. Jonathan Martinez was the next big thing before he lost to Jose Aldo in Brazil back in May. He froze. Plain and simple. Don’t get me wrong Marcus McGhee is a talented fighter, but he isn’t Jose Aldo in Brazil. So this is a great spot to buy in on Martinez as an underdog. His leg kicks alone are going to give McGhee absolute fits. Especially as he’s an orthodox fighter, going against a southpaw. Those leg kicks are going to be there all day long! Don’t believe the whole “hype train derailed” BS on Martinez. This kids legit and on Saturday night he will be back showing it. He might even stop McGhee in the 2nd half of the fight. LOG IT!

Two down, two to go. We head straight to this weekends main event for my final single of the evening!

BET 3

Lot of people slagging off this weekends main event between the HW goat and the guy who daren’t fight Tom Aspinall. But I love it. It’s a legacy fight. One for us old heads of the MMA world to enjoy. Plus all the folks giving this fight grief are still going to watch it. That’s fact.

Now people think this is going to be a one round fight. It isn’t. Stipe isn’t Gane. He can actually wrestle. Jon Jones isn’t a concussive puncher either, even at heavyweight. So get free money by taking the over 1.5 rounds. But for me, I am going one further than that. This is going to the cards. Jon jones saw the judges score cards against Reyes, Silva, Smith etc. He won’t finish Stipe. It’s all smoke and mirrors. If he does it will be late on. It’s not going to be in the first few rounds. Trust me. Or don’t. You can hate after I cash.

Now don’t worry you degenerates I haven’t forgotten about the parlay. Its coming. But first let’s enjoy this weekends fight poster! As I loved New York City cards!

Last but not least!

THE PARLAY

Enjoy the violence you degenerate gamblers!
