REPORT: Daniel Jacobs vs Shane Mosley Jr to co-main Diaz/Masvidal
Ladies and gentlemen, we’re getting ever-closer to our July 6th night of boxing, featuring UFC legends Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal facing off in Anaheim, California. Today, though, some big news was announced for the event, with the co-main event being unveiled; and it’s a big one.
Jacobs and Mosley Jr to meet in Anaheim, CA
Daniel Jacobs (37-4, 30 KOs) is a two-time former middleweight world champion, having held the WBA middleweight world title from 2014 to 2017, as well as previously holding the IBF middleweight title from 2018 to 2019. He has both fought, and only lost to, the very who’s-who of the boxing world. His losses include a split decision loss to London native John Ryder in 2022, as well as decision losses to Gennady “GGG” Golovkin and current undisputed super-middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.

Shane Mosley Jr is the son of legendary former welterweight superstar and boxing Hall of Fame inductee”Sugar” Shane Mosley. Mosley Sr was a multiple world champion in three different weight classes, including the WBA and WBC welterweight titles, the WBA (Super), WBC and Ring Magazine super-welterweight titles as well as the two-time lineal welterweight world champion. Mosley Jr (21-4, 12 KOs) is a seasoned, 33 year-old pro. He was last defeated in May 2021, suffering a majority decision loss to Jason Quigley. That being said, he is on a four-fight winning streak, and will be hoping to pick up the biggest win of his career with a win over Jacobs.
