PFL Europe Paris: Cédric Doumbe Aims To Wow Again
Following it’s massively successful, sell-out show in September of last year, the PFL has touched down once again in one of the most famous cities on Earth! Paris, France once more plays host to the PFL, and especially one of the most exciting fighters on the planet right now: Cédric Doumbé.
Cédric Doumbé: “Le Meilleur”‘s Meteoric Ascent
Cédric Doumbé is easily one of the most thrilling, vicious fighters in the World.
For those of you who haven’t been made aware, “Le Meilleur” (The Best) truly is one of them. A career spanning nearly a decade (he made his professional kickboxing debut in 2015) has seem Doumbé become a two-time GLORY welterweight kickboxing champion, as well as widely being recognised as the best welterweight fighter on planet Earth in 2016. His transition to MMA in 2021 was a flawless, as Doumbé sports a flawless 5-0-0 professional record.
PFL x Doumbé
On May 10th, 2023, the PFL announced that they had signed one of the hottest free agents in the industry when they announced the acquisition of Doumbé, initially on a two-year contract. He then made his debut in September 2023, facing off against Jordan Zébo in that Parisian procession. It took Doumbé just NINE seconds in his PFL debut to absolutely flatten Zébo, whilst sending a chilling message to the rest of PFL’s welterweight division that Doumbé had well and truly arrived.
PFL Europe Paris: Doumbé’s New Challenge
Given how well Doumbé’s presence went last time around, it only made sense for the PFL to build on his massive, passionate following and place him straight at the epicentre of this event once more. In this fight, Doumbé faces fellow Frenchman Baysangur “Baki” Chamsoudinov, a young, hungry welterweight who, like Doumbé, also sports an undefeated professional record (7-0-0). That being said, Doumbé will be feeling anything but fear in the face of his latest challenge. If there is one person worthy of such self-confidence, it is “Le Meilleur” – The Best.
[Scratches record] Yeah, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I ended up here…or not. My name’s Keelin McNamara, and I am an AVID combat sports fan. Always have been, and probably always will be. I started writing and podcasting about MMA in the Summer of 2020 (yeah, we don’t talk about that here either). I’ve been doing it ever since, and have loved every single minute of it! Thanks for checking out whatever it is you’re reading – I hope you enjoy it!
