New England Fights: Christian Turner in to fight Kyle Pufahl at NEF 57
Ladies and gentlemen, one of the hottest organisations on the regional scene is back with another epic night of fights!
April 20th sees New England Fights present “NEF 57” from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. Last week, the promotion announced that the card will feature an extra professional catchweight bout; Kyle Pufahl will now face Christian Turner in a fight with a weight limit of 161 pounds.
Fighting out of Nostos MMA in Somersworth, New Hampshire, “Poof” Pufahl was originally scheduled to face Steven Klecker on this card, but Kleckler had to withdraw due to an injury. Instead, Pufahl, a former NEF Amateur Lightweight champion, puts his perfect 3-0 record on the line against Turner. Asked about the change of opponent, Pufahl said:
“It’s unfortunate to have Kleckler pull out due to injury, but everything happens for a reason…I’m excited for the new opportunity against a new opponent. I can’t wait to step in with a game opponent!”.
In the opposite corner, American Top Team’s Christian “The Titan” Turner is stepping in to make his second appearance in NEF. A veteran of the PFL as well as LFA, Turner needed just 23 seconds to finish his debut fight against James Lawson at NEF 56 last February.
“I’m eager to win and take out anyone who is in front of me”, said Turner. “I’m ready to finish!”. Turner also joined our Fight Bananas team recently to discuss his upcoming fight, which you can check out below! Speaking about this very high level fight, NEF’s matchmaker Matt Peterson excitedly said: “Striker’s delight! On a card that couldn’t get much better, this is the icing on the cake. Two skilled fighters from high-level gyms that are willing to step up and give the fans what they want! This bout really puts this loaded card over the top.”
This NEF card is sure to be one that you cannot miss! Make sure to tune in to NEF 57 from Bangor, Maine on April 20th!
[Scratches record] Yeah, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I ended up here…or not. My name’s Keelin McNamara, and I am an AVID combat sports fan. Always have been, and probably always will be. I started writing and podcasting about MMA in the Summer of 2020 (yeah, we don’t talk about that here either). I’ve been doing it ever since, and have loved every single minute of it! Thanks for checking out whatever it is you’re reading – I hope you enjoy it!
