Grant Dawson vs Joe Solecki OFFICIAL for UFC 302
Ladies and gentlemen – we have a big fight confirmed for UFC 302.
Grant “KGD” Dawson, one of the most exciting fighters in this stacked UFC lightweight division, makes his return against fellow prospect Joe Solecki. Solecki, who is 5-2-0 in the UFC, will pose a dynamic and interesting challenge to Dawson, who is hoping to get back onto top form following his loss to Bobby Green last October. Our very own Dave Van Auken caught up with Grant to get his thoughts on the fight; this is what “KGD” had to say:
“I guess I can say that I’m pumped for this match up, because it’s my first fight in the UFC that is: 1, on a numbered card; 2 vs another strong grappler and 3; this is the first time I’ll be in front of a crowd since 2019, so all those things have got my hyped up for this fight.”
Dawson also cited the importance and influence of training at American Top Team in Florida, pointing out the effect and impact of training amongst some of the best fighters in the world:
“My teammates are all coming off really big wins and performances in recent weeks so getting a big win here and showing that I’m on that level with them is very important to me as well. I’m hoping to get a quick turn around after this fight and get back into the top 10 like I was before the set back with Bobby Green. 2024 is going to be a great year for me and the Dawson family and I can’t think of a better way to start it off than being on UFC 302!”
