DWCS | WEEK 7 | PREVIEW & BEST BETS
DEGENERATES! WE ARE SO BACK!
It’s the start of the week and that means one thing. Tuesday night fights incoming with Dana Whites Contender Series! We have 5 fights, money in our pocket, and violence to be had! Let’s get into it!
1st up is the ladies straw-weight division!
ALEXIA THAINARA V ROSE CONCEICAO.
Both these ladies hail from Brazil and enter the contest with impressive records so far. Thainara is 10-1, whilst Rose Conceicao is unbeaten at 7-0. Neither ladies have fought so far this year. So we might see a little ring rust in the cage in Round 1. But this should be quite an entertaining scrap!
If this fight remains on the feet then Thainara is certainly worth a punt. But if Conceicao does get it to the ground she’s going to take over. She just has the far better wrestling and grappling game to get it done. Plus you know how much I love an unbeaten fighter in a 50/50 fight! So I’ll be rolling with Rose to get the W!
PICK – ROSE CONCEICAO TO WIN @ -120
2nd fight up we head to the featherweight division.
CAM TEAGUE V KEVIN VALLEJOS
American Cam Teague enters tonight fight with a 7-0 unbeaten record. I bet you’re already thinking, Phil loves this guy! Well, I do like Teague but he’s in for a hell of a task when he takes on Argentinas Kevin Vallejos who is 13-1. The one loss, Jean Silva via decision, and we all know how good The Fighting Nerds Jean Silva is now! Both guys come in off the back of stoppage wins in their last fight.
Sadly for Teague this is where his 0 has to go. Vallejos is the betting favourite for a reason and I’m struggling to find a way for him to lose. Where as there is lots of reasons I like him to win. So lump on the fav as a parlay piece or take him by finish if you can find the prop!
PICK – KEVIN VALLEJOS TO WIN @ -375
Who wants a 3rd fight? Me! Light Heavyweights!
FRANCESCO MAZZEO V KEVIN CHRISTIAN
DWCS always throws up prospects from Europe and Francesco Mazzeo from Italy is just that. He enters 4-0 with 3 of those fights taking place for Cagewarriors. Brazil’s Kevin Christian’s last fight was in LFA and he makes the walk with a record of 8-2.
Kevin Christian is a huge for 205. The dude stands 6’7. He’s got solid grappling, with a decent enough stand up game to boot. Mazzeo has a looks can be deceiving type of record. 2 of his wins where by injury and an illegal hit by his opponent. I think Kevin Christian should be a much bigger favourite than he currently is. This is where the hype for the Italian prospect ends.
PICK – KEVIN CHRISTIAN TO WIN @ -160
The Co-main event of the evening takes us to the Welterweight division!
DANIEL FRUNZA V VADYM KUTSYI
Riding a 4 fight winning streak comes Daniel Frunza! His last two wins were both by knockout whilst competing under the LFA banner. He was born in Romania but fights out of Italy. He is 8-2 overall. His opponent Vadym Kutsyi is 17-1, fighting out of Belarus and has a 10 fight winning streak going for him! I think this one’s going to be an absolute banger! I don’t think we will need the judges for this one hopefully!
If this hits the ground, we only have one winner and that is Kutsyi. Whilst on the feet, it’s more level. An if you fancy’s a punt on a dawg, then Frunza is your guy. He could catch Kutsyi cold, as the Belarusian is coming off a near 2 year lay off. But personally for this bettor, I don’t think that’s going to be an issue. He’s going to be prepared. He could have even improved. A lay off isn’t always a bad thing. I love the Kutsyi submission play if the props available! His submission game is sharp. I’d play the under 2.5 too! As both these guys have finishing potential. But the Belarusian is going to get the W for me.
PICK – VADYM KUTSYI @ -238
MAIN EVENT TIME! Who doesn’t love heavyweights! The big boys just bring the heat! I expect nothing different in our final fight of the night.
DANYLO VOIEVODKIN V BAILEY SCHOENFELDER
Someone’s 0 has got to go, as both these guys are undefeated. Danylo is 6-0 all coming inside the distance. Bailey is similar at 5-0, and yes you guessed it they all are by finish. I expect the judges will have hit the Vegas strip by this time, as they won’t expect to be needed here. They presumed right!
Now the ML pick is going to be a sprinkle on Danylo at +420, as I can’t pick Bailey as a -660 favourite. Not even in a parlay. Not with the big boys. As both guys have knockout power. So this isn’t a fight where I really like to pick fighter as a best bet. The Dawg play is live. So I’ll just be placing a small play on that. If you like the favourite I’d looks for the knockout prop bet. Or under 1.5 rounds. That’s the value if you like Bailey to get it done. One things for absolutely sure, and that’s that this fights going to be fun…. While it lasts! The official pick is purely a fun play. Tread carefully!
PICK – DANYLO VOIEVODKIN TO WIN @ +420.
