UFC EDMONTON | BEST BETS

Published by Phillip Dean on October 30, 2024

Now then crew! We are heading over to Canada for this weekends UFC event. Which takes place in Edmonton! It’s a solid card for a fight night. But what I like best about it is we have a load of underdogs to bet on! Altogether I’ve got 4 great bets for you, that I’ve of course played myself! Let’s get into it!

my first play of the night when this card was announced was in the original main event, that is now the co-main event.

Rose Namajunas is a former world champion, and has been on a good run of late. Winning her last 2 fight against Cortez and Ribas comfortably. She’s got great stand up, can throw volume and is no slouch in the grappling department. She’s just solid everywhere.

Standing in her way will be submission specialist Erin Blanchfield. No doubt about it, on the ground Erin is fantastic. She has an exceptional sub game. But, last time out she got pieced up on the feet in a loss to Fiorot. An I’m expecting a similar kind of result here. If she can’t get Rose to the ground, then she’s going to get battered on the feet. I’d rather play the plus money dog with this scenario, especially since Rose isn’t exactly terrible if it does hit the mat. Thug all the way here.

Next up head to the big boys division.

Now I’m going to keep this write up short. Because I don’t think this fights going to last long. A new player in the HW division is Jhonata Diniz. He’s currently riding a 3 fight win streak since he started in the UFC. He’s decent. But I haven’t seen anything that’s made me go WOW. Not yet anyway. Plus he is a stand up fighter. He has good boxing and he doesn’t look to take you down.

Enter the underdog. Derrick Lewis. The Black Beast. We all know what Derrick is packing. In both his fists and his shorts. Yes his best days at top level may be behind him. But it’s your power that is last to go. So in a fight between 2 guys in a fist fight, give me Derrick Lewis most of the time. Against a guy with only 3 fights in the UFC, give me him every time. Take the dog money!

We keep it going with Bet 3 for the card and don’t worry, I’ve picked a favourite! Kind of!

Who doesn’t love Brandon Moreno? Nobody! He’s our guy! Yes he’s not quite been as good of late, but I think the break he’s taken will of done him good, and I reckon he is raring to go! We know what we get with Moreno. He’s good everywhere and he’s of course a former world champion. A year or so ago, and he would have been a much bigger money line favourite.

Amir Albazi is a very good fighter. Like Moreno he is pretty solid everywhere. He doesn’t throw the sort of volume Moreno does, but he does like to mix in the take downs. An if he can get you down, he can do some damage. I just think he will have issues here with Morenos movement. An if he does get him down, I don’t believe he can keep him there.

I think we see all 5 rounds on Saturday, with both guys leaving it all in the cage. I just think the edge lies with Moreno, and he will win a tight decision on the cards.

Last up is the 4 fight parlay. Which we cashed last weekend. So I’ll drop that below for you. I know you guys love a fight night parlay! Pays +1000.

Enjoy the violence.
