THE GOOSES EDGE | UFC LOUISVILLE | CANNONIER v IMAVOV.
What’s up fight fans! It’s your boy Goose with all your best bets, and predictions for this weekends Louisville card! But before we get into that, here’s the results of UFC302 betting wise. Up 3.94 Units. Which for me, means $394 bucks won!
Now moving on to this week’s card. This card isn’t filled with star names, but it has the potential to be a more exciting card strangely enough. Mainly because I feel we will see more fights finish inside the distance this weekend. I know how much you degenerates love to see violence, and people going to sleep! So with that, let’s get at it!
Julian Marquez to beat Zach Reese @ -138.
Both these guys are coming into the fight off the back of a loss. But Marquez has faced much better competition of late, losing to Marc-Andre Barriault and Gregory Rodrigues. Where as Reese got knocked out by Cody Bundrage in his UFC debut. I see this fight mainly taking place on the feet, and Marquez just has Zach overmatched. If Bundrage can put Reese out, then you can be sure that The Cuban Missile certainly can! At the time of writing, props for the finish for Marquez aren’t listed. When they do I might even sprinkle on that if I were you. But let’s play it safe. Marquez ML is the play. BOOM!
Miguel Baeza to beat Punahele Soriano @ -188
Soriano will be making his way down to the 170 ranks to face Baeza from 185. Now let’s face it Soriano had extremely worrying cardio when he was a 185 fighter. Cutting down to 170 isn’t going to help that one little bit. It’s going to make it even more of a problem in my eyes. Baeza is big for 170 and is an incredibly well rounded fighter. So here’s how I see this playing out. Soriano will come out throwing like a degenerate trying to get one last play in before the casino closes, and after that, he’s toast. Baeza will simply use his movement to weather the storm, then use his excellent kickboxing to maintain distance and pick Soriano apart. Probably even forcing a stoppage over a gassed out Soriano. Baeza even has his BJJ black belt tucked away in his back pocket, should the fight end up on the ground. So with all that said, throw money on Baeza in a parlay or straight up. It’s probably my safest play on the card.
Jared Cannonier to beat Nassourdine Imavov @ +100.
Yes that’s right degenerinos we have the hard hitting Jared Cannonier as a betting underdog this week. Even if only a slight one. But this price has to be played because when the fight was announced I was sure JC would have been favourite. Imavov has movement on his side and that’s about it. Everything else favours Jared. Jared has been fighting better competition than Imavov, and in a fight where Imavov did step up, he lost to Sean Strickland. Someone Jared has already beaten in the past at 185. Imavov might win round 1, maybe even 2. But eventually Cannonier will catch up to him, and when he does it’s LIGHTS OUT!
Last but no means by least is our 4 FIGHT PARLAY. This is one for the degenerates who DONT like a sure thing, but enjoy the sweating of a +600 parlay. The research for all these are solid. But it’s far too much to write down! As it’s 1am on a Friday here and I’ve got to hit the hay! But trust me I won’t be shocked if this lands on Saturday.
