The Most Valuable Promotions card on Netflix had already put together a must-watch event with Ronda Rousey facing Gina Carano in the main event and Francis Ngannou returning to MMA in co-main event. However, things got more spicy Monday morning, as a welterweight scrap between Nate Diaz and Mike Perry was announced.
Perry has called for a fight with Diaz in Dirty Boxing and in MMA, now the stage is set for the two veterans to collide on May 16th under the Most Valuable Promotions banner. The bout will take place at 170 pounds and will be 5 five minute rounds.
Diaz is one of the biggest stars in MMA and his return already has the MMA world buzzing. He hasn’t fought in MMA since 2022 but has fought two boxing fights against Jorge Masvidal and Jake Paul since leaving his last MMA fight. He has wins over Conor McGregor, Anthony Pettis, Tony Ferguson, Donald Cerrone and others in his storied career.
Perry has made a name for himself in the world of Bareknuckle Fighting Championships and has fought in boxing against Paul as well. Perry is undefeated in BKFC and while fighting in MMA won 14 total fights with 11 coming by knockout.
Both fighters are known for their ‘standup and bang’ fight style, also both guys are very entertaining outside of fighting. The thought of these two against each other seems to be a perfect match in all aspects. The MVP card on Netflix already has three interesting fights with legendary fighters across the board, and now the MMA world awaits who else could possibly be added.
Current MVP on Netflix card:
Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano
Francis Ngannou vs. Philipe Lins
Nate Diaz vs. Mike Perry
