DWCS | SEASON 9 | WEEK 2 | EXPOSITO V DELANO

Published by Phillip Dean on August 18, 2025

Hello, degenerates! We’re fast approaching Tuesday, Week 2 of the new season of Dana White’s Contender Series. We’ve got a five-fight card headlined by two South American featherweights. I’ll break down the main event, the co-main event, and give quick picks for the other three fights. Let’s dive in.

Breaking Down the Main Event: Exposito vs. Delano Battle for a Contract

Featherweight action awaits! Manuel Exposito, with a 13-2 record, enters the cage on a three-fight win streak. This guy is relentless, blending aggressive wrestling with wild strikes, racking up 10 of his 13 wins inside the distance. He’s a perfect fit for the main event, always delivering entertainment.

Across the cage stands Jose Delano from Brazil, boasting a 15-3 record with nine wins before the final bell. He’s won 14 of his last 15 fights, showcasing fast hands, crisp boxing, and a well-rounded game. His exceptional takedown defense and slick submissions make him a tough matchup.

Prediction: Jose Delano by decision.

The Middleweight Co-Main Event: Holmes vs. Rowston

Brandon Holmes, an undefeated 5-0 middleweight, is a terrifying prospect. Three of his five wins came inside the distance, all by knockout. He’s also 4-0 as an amateur, all by stoppage. This striker’s lightning-fast hands make him must-watch material.

His opponent, Cam Rowston, returns for his second Contender Series appearance after losing to Torrez Finney by unanimous decision last season. Since then, he’s reeled off three straight wins, two by submission, including a calf slicer. With an 11-3 record and training out of City Kickboxing, Rowston brings Muay Thai striking and solid grappling, with a versatile submission arsenal. His experience gives him an edge.

Prediction: Cam Rowston by submission.

The rest of this DWCS card. More BANGERS to come.

* Bantamweight: Kaushik Saikumar (5-0) vs. Louis Lee Scott (9-0) – Louis Lee Scott to win.

* Heavyweight: Josh Hokit (5-0) vs. Guilherme Uriel (6-1) – Josh Hokit to win.

* Featherweight: Tommy Cuozzi (8-0) vs. Ramiro Jimenez (10-0) – Ramiro Jimenez to win.

Enjoy the violence as always.

Phil.
