UFC 315 Main Card Preview: Title Fights and Big Returns in Montreal

The UFC heads back to Montreal for the first time in years, as UFC 315 takes over the Bell Centre with a stacked lineup that includes two world championship bouts.

Here’s a breakdown of the high-stakes matchups set for Saturday night’s pay-per-view main card.

Belal Muhammad vs. Jack Della Maddalena
UFC Welterweight Championship

Reigning welterweight champion Belal Muhammad (24-3, 1 NC) puts his belt on the line for the first time since claiming it in dominant fashion against Leon Edwards at UFC 304 in Manchester. He’ll headline the card opposite rising contender Jack Della Maddalena (17-1), who brings an unblemished UFC record and a potent finishing rate into the Octagon.

Muhammad is unbeaten in his last 11 fights and hasn’t suffered a loss since a 2019 decision setback to Geoff Neal. Della Maddalena, meanwhile, has been on fire, stringing together 17 consecutive victories after losing his first two pro fights. Fourteen of those wins have come via finish, including five of seven inside the UFC.

Valentina Shevchenko vs. Manon Fiorot
UFC Flyweight Championship

Flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko (24-4-1) aims to add a tenth title-fight win to her résumé when she meets surging contender Manon Fiorot (12-1) in the co-main event. The bout marks Shevchenko’s return to action following her title-regaining win over Alexa Grasso at UFC 306.

The longtime champion sits just two wins behind Amanda Nunes for the most victories in UFC women’s championship history. Fiorot, boasting a perfect 7-0 UFC record, has quietly built the longest active win streak in the division. The French striker most recently bested Erin Blanchfield in March.

José Aldo vs. Aiemann Zahabi
Bantamweight Bout

Former featherweight king José Aldo (32-9) looks to reestablish himself in the bantamweight division as he takes on Canadian fan favorite Aiemann Zahabi (12-2). This will be Aldo’s third bout since returning from a brief retirement, and he’s 1-1 in that stretch, including a recent close loss to Mario Bautista.

Zahabi enters with serious momentum, having won five straight. Saturday marks his biggest test yet, as he shares the cage with one of MMA’s all-time greats on home soil in Montreal.

Alexa Grasso vs. Natália Silva
Flyweight Bout

Former champion Alexa Grasso (16-4-1) is back in action for the first time since concluding her historic trilogy with Shevchenko. She faces Brazil’s Natália Silva (18-5-1), a rising force on a 12-fight win streak and undefeated in six UFC appearances.

This is Grasso’s first matchup since 2022 that doesn’t involve Shevchenko, and she’ll need to be sharp against Silva, who has already picked up two Performance of the Night bonuses in her short UFC run.

Benoit Saint-Denis vs. Kyle Prepolec
Lightweight Bout

French standout Benoit Saint-Denis (13-3) was nearly sidelined from UFC 315 after Joel Alvarez pulled out due to injury, but Ontario native Kyle Prepolec (18-8) answered the call to step in on short notice. This will be Prepolec’s first UFC appearance since 2019.

Saint-Denis had put together a dominant five-fight win streak at lightweight before back-to-back losses to Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano halted his momentum. Prepolec, still searching for his first UFC win, gets a big opportunity in front of a Canadian crowd.
